Michelle is an enthusiastic teacher, choreographer, performer and adjudicator who celebrates dance through her innovation and inspiration! Michelle’s dance career began at the early age of three where she trained under the direction of Margo Hartley at Bojangles Art of Dance in Kitchener, Ontario. Training in jazz, tap, lyrical, ballet, hip hop, musical theatre and modern, she attended one of Canada’s most prestigious schools. Michelle attained her Intermediate levl in ballet from the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD). She went on to receive extensive training in New York City at Broadway Dance Center from well known teachers such as Mia Michaels, Ray Leeper, Wes Veldink, Sheila Barker, David Marques and Michele Assaf. In addition, Michelle frequently attended The Edge Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles to continue her dance training. Michelle has worked and performed with various dance companies and artists including Helix Dance Project: “Hotel”, directed and choreographed by Linda Garneau, Bell Mobility Celebrity Gala: “Chicago”, The Wes Veldink Movement: “Walking Through Walls”, directed and choreographed by Wes Veldink, The Honey Kats Gala, K-OS “Superstar” music video, Under Construction & Company: choreographed by Sheila Barker and Brian Thomas and with the well known boys group N’SYNC. As well, Michelle danced alongside Stacey Tookey in Broadway a Tropea: choreographed by Terry Beeman, A.C Ciulla and Michele Assaf in Tropea, Italy. Michelle enjoys staying active in the dance world by teaching, choreographing and adjudicating for numerous studios and organizations throughout Canada. She has been recognized for her innovative choreography, receiving countless awards for her creativity, conception and overall vision. Michelle is sought after as a choreographer and has choreographed for hair, fashion and comedy shows and for charity events including Megan’s Walk. Michelle’s students have gone on to dance across the continent. They have actively taken to the stage performing for various companies, festivals and schools from The Julliard School in New York City and New World School of the Arts in Miami to Toronto Dance Theatre, The National Ballet of Canada, Miami City Ballet, Ate9 dANCEcOMPANY, The Joffrey Ballet, Ryerson University, Compagnie Marie Chouinard, SUNY Purchase Dance Conservatory, The Randolph Academy, Point Park Conservatory, Decidedly Jazz Danceworks and The Conteur Academy in Toronto to name a few. Michelle shares her joy for dance by striving to inspire young dancers with her passion and energy. She has brought her love for dancing on the stage into the classroom and enjoys sharing her knowledge with all dancers. Michelle’s desire to teach and motivate has lead her to open her own studio and she is thrilled to introduce Emotion Dance Company, Guelph’s new premier studio! Emotion Dance Company offers only the best in dance instruction and looks forward to bringing out the best in your child while challenging them to be better than themselves.
Lynn easily steps into the role of Administrative Director at Emotion Dance Company as she has been involved in the dance industry for over 30 years. She was an integral part of the administration and reception at Bojangles Art of Dance for 17 years. Lynn has a way of putting everyone at ease with her warm heart and inviting demeanour. She has been nominated Woman of the Year by the Sertoma Club for her countless hours of work during the Christmas Miracle. Lynn enjoys volunteering her time at Out of the Cold, an outreach service for the homeless of Kitchener Waterloo
Lynn is no stranger to working with children as she is a grandmother to 5 beautiful children and enjoys spending her free time making them muffins, cookies and carrot cake ! She brings a wealth of knowledge to Emotion Dance Company and is thrilled to share her passion with the parents and students.
Caroline couldn’t wait to work at Emotion Dance Company and volunteered at the desk while she was a competitive dancer at the studio. She now works alongside Lynn as part of the administrative team. She enjoys helping to keep the studio run efficiently so that all of our dancers and parents can have a fun and fuss free experience. Caroline has a lot of experience in leadership positions and working with kids. She is a camp counselor in the summer and has volunteered her time as both a dance assistant and synchronized swimming coach.

Brooke began her dancing career at the early age of 3 and has been dedicating much of her time and commitment to the art form ever since. Brooke is trained in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Acro, Modern, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Musical Theatre and also has extensive training and exam work in Cecchetti Ballet. Brooke graduated from Emotion Dance Company under the artistic direction of Michelle Nicholson where she trained numerous hours a week with some of the most sought out choreographers in the dance community.
After graduating high school Brooke attended the Conteur Academy, under artistic direction of Eryn Waltman, where she studied under many professional teachers and choreographers in Toronto and the surrounding area. She has been a part of a few full-length shows such as “Frames” (Conteur Academy), “A life Within” (Breath In Movement) as well as smaller show castings in the Toronto area. During her time in Toronto she was also able to work with artist Craig Cardiff in a music video.
She then moved to London to attend the University of Western where graduated with an Honours Health Science and a Specialization in Biology Degree. During her time at Western she had many performance/ choreographic opportunities. She was a prominent dancer/ choreographer of Heat Dance Team where she competed at a varsity level. She has also had the pleasure of choreographing for Caisa Fashion Show, the largest student run fashion show in all of Canada.
In 2018, Brooke produced her own full-length contemporary dance production titled “I Never Promised You a Rose Garden”. Her most recent work includes dancing in the upcoming movie Disney Zombies 2.
Brooke has also become an established award-winning choreographer. She has been recognized for her unique and innovative work. Brooke has been teaching/ choreographing for the past 7 years, traveling to studios all over Ontario. Brooke excels in choreography and spends most of her time freelance teaching/ choreographing for dancers all over. Brooke’s passion for dance is evident whether it is teaching or performing herself and she can’t wait to share that passion and inspire the next generation of dancers!
Acrobatic Arts Module 1 & 2
Christine discovered her love of dance at the young age of 2 and has been dancing ever since. She is a graduate of The Conteur Academy and is currently attending Dance Masters of America’s Teacher’s Training program. Her passion for dance has lead her to many dance opportunities in Toronto, ON. Some of her credits include, Breakfast Television, Creativiva’s “The dream maker”, Conteur Academy’s production of “Fill in The Blanks” and “Frames”, and MyStageLeft’s production of the musical “Hairspray”. She currently works as a dancer for the TDC, Toronto Dance Company. Christine’s true passion resides in teaching and choreographing. She is currently working as the choreographer for the Rose Theatre Production of “West Side Story”, and has been a choreographer for Toronto Dance Project’s since 2015. Christine is thrilled to be joining our team at Emotion Dance Company.

Jaclyn is an enthusiastic performer, choreographer and dedicated teacher. Jaclyn began her career in Toronto and throughout her training she was able to study all genres of dance. She received extensive training from many teachers such as Glenn Gilmore, Sheona Bell, Jane Wooding, Sean Boutilier, Nadia Potts, Carol Anderson, Robert Desrosie and Vicky St. Denys.
Jaclyn attended the prestigious National Ballet School of Canada Professional Development Program where she attained her Associate Cecchetti Teachers Diploma (A.I.S.T.D.). In addition she holds her Performing Arts Educators of Canada (P.A.E.C.) in ballet. As a performer Jaclyn has achieved her Advanced Cecchetti Diploma and her RAD Advanced Certificate. She is an adjudicator with I.A.D.A. (International Academy of Dance Adjudicators) and P.A.A. (Performing Adjudicator’s Alliance). Jaclyn is also an honours graduate from Ryerson Polytechnic University where she attained her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Dance.
Jaclyn has choreographed many overall award winning competitive pieces for various studios in Ontario. She had the opportunity to choreograph for Miss Teen Canada 2008. Her student was able to win her talent and title as Miss Teen Canada International 2008.
Jaclyn brings a vast range of dance knowledge and training to Emotion Dance Company. Her passion for dance exceeds limits and it is here at EDC she is able to share her love of dance.
Karina Grzella currently resides in Kitchener, ON. Karina has been dancing for 16 years and has extensive training in ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary and hip hop. She has been fortunate to train with noted choreographers throughout Canada and the United States via stage, film and television. Karina has worked with Michelle Freiburger Nicholson, Paula Skimin, Tamina Pollact-Paris, Cora Kozaris, Linda Garneau, Tatiana Parker, Jeff Dimitriou and Paul Becker. Beyond studio training Karina has chosen to expand her dance education via travel to various dance workshops throughout North America. Through invitation only intensives, Karina has been fortunate to work more intimately with Desmond Richardson, Cris Judd, Gil Duldulao, Dana Foglia and Brian Friedman. For the 2016/2017 season Karina will be touring as a Pro level Elite Protege assisting the Pulse Faculty across North America.
Stage credits include Ballet Jorgen Nutcracker at the Center in the Square, Monster Hip Hop (New Jersey), Hairspray KWMP. Film and Television credits include Get Up and Move (Lead Actor/Dancer – Bella Productions), The Bomb Girls (Dancer -Muse Ent/Adrienne Mitchell – Global TV), 2015 PanAm Games closing ceremony and ParaPanAm Games opening ceremony B5C company (Paul Becker and Jeff Dimitriou), The Next Step (Family Channels dance reality show season 4) and most recently television hit series Backstage (Family Channel – Disney TV series).
Karina had the good fortune to dance with Janet Jackson as a guest performer in her Unbreakable Tour at the Air Canada Center Toronto with renowned choreographer and creative director Gil Duldulao.
Karina is an artist at heart who’s love for performance is not out shined by her passion for constant growth in dance education. Karina’s inate ability to interpret music has guided her towards choreography and teaching which fulfills her artistic nature. Karina is a Fresh Dance Intensive staff member which promotes emerging choreographers/teaching artists through the direction of David Norsworthy (Juilliard Alumni). Karina is constantly evolving and looks forward to opportunities which challenge and expand her as a person.
Karina is in her Third year at Wilfred Laurier University studying Psychology and is excited to be a member of the Emotion Dance Company Team!
Kristopher Grzella currently resides in Kitchener where he has been dancing for 16 years training extensively in ballet, jazz, tap and hip hop and has been fortunate to train with noted choreographers throughout Canada and the United States. Via stage, film and television , Kristopher has worked with Devon Perri, David Cox, Tatiana Parker, Tamina Pollact-Paris, Shawn Desman, Jeff Dimitriou, and Luther Brown. Kristopher’s hunger for dance education has taken him from the studio to the road attending workshops throughout North America. Through invitation only intensives, Kristopher has been fortunate to work more intimately with Sonya Tayeh, Desmond Richardson, Cris Judd, Gil Duldulao, and Brian Friedman .
Kristopher’s stage credits include Monsters of Hip Hop (New Jersey) , Hairspray KWMP , Aznavour the Stratford Festival Theatre, Family Channels Big Ticket Summer Concert Tour at the Molson Canadian Amphitheatre ,Toronto International Auto Show 40th Anniversary Gala, WE Day Opening Ceremony in Kitchener, TD Canada Trust: The World Gala, Toronto’s World Pride closing ceremony and most recently the closing ceremony for the PAN AM Games in Toronto.
Kristopher’s Film and Television credits include The Hoofers Club (Bravo Fact, Clarence Ford), A Night Like This (Shawn Desman), Coca Cola (Luther Brown) and The Next Step (Family Channel, Frank van Keeken ), Make It Pop (Nickelodeon, YTV) and most recently Backstage (Family Channel – Disney T.V Series).
Kristopher is an enthusiastic teacher who is looking forward to inspiring a new generation of dancers through his fun and inviting classes. Most recently he was a faculty member on the FRESH Dance Intensive Convention, touring western Canada and Ontario. Kris is very excited to be on the teaching staff at Emotion Dance Company and to share and inspire his fellow dancers!

Acrobatic Arts Module 1
Liz has been dancing for the past 18 years, training competitively in all styles of dance. She attained Honors for her Intermediate ballet exam through the Cecchetti Society. A former student of Michelle Freiburger Nicholson, Liz has gone on to guest teach at dance studios across Ontario, offering enthusiasm and inspiration to students with her love of dance. Liz has completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Performance Dance at Ryerson University. Expanding her knowledge of dance, Liz travels to New York and Los Angeles to study with the industry’s most sought after professionals. Sharing her knowledge, technical background and love of art her choreography has led her students to various high scores and overall standings at Canada’s most reputable competitions. Liz aims to inspire her students through her passion of dance.

Maddison studied dance at Joffrey Ballet School in New York City and graduated from The Conteur Academy in Toronto. She is currently at Wilfred Laurier University adding to her education studying a double major of psychology and biology, to add knowledge to the psychological and biological sides of dance. Maddie has successfully competed and won awards for her dancing and choreography. To further her teaching experience, she is certified in modules 1 and 2 of Acrobatic Arts. Maddie has appeared in music videos, performed in New York City, on runways and parades in Toronto. She has produced work for the Joffrey Ballet School, The Conteur Academy’s Student Showcase and numerous studios across Ontario. She also performed in Brooke Gilmour’s “I Never Promised You A Rose Garden” for London Fringe Festival. Maddison is excited to challenge, share and inspire acro skills into the students of Emotion Dance Company!

Meagan has been dancing for 17 years now, starting at the age of 2. She grew at Dimensions in dance, where she danced competitively for 13 amazing years. She also did competitive gymnastics to the age of 14, where she learned her passion for acro. Meagan am certified in Acrobatic Arts, which has given her the ability to teach the wonderful style of acro dance. She is super excited to teach all of our amazing students and help them grow as a dancer.

Nadiene Gibney began her ballet training at the age of 3, with Gladys Forrester in Toronto, Ontario. By age 9, she was accepted to the full time program at Canada’s National Ballet School. After four years of training there, with excellent teachers including Glenn Gilmour, Carina Bomers, Rosalie Brake, Laurel Toto, Deb Hess, Deb Bowes and Carole Chadwick, Nadiene wanted to explore other forms of dance so she attended Etobicoke School of the Arts, studying both modern and ballet, as well as jazz. There, she was the recipient of prestigious dance awards for excellence. Nadiene then attended the Teacher Training Program at Canada’s National Ballet School and graduated with Honours and her Cecchetti Associate. Nadiene has been teaching ballet for 19 years and now holds her Cecchetti Licentiate. During this time, she has taught at several excellent studios throughout Ontario and has been the Director of Ballet at three schools, including the Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance, where she taught for 12 years, directing the Special Ballet Training program. Nadiene is a guest teacher at Canada’s National Ballet School and Etobicoke School of the Arts and has taught workshops and summer school programs throughout North America, including the American Academy of Ballet in New York City.
Nadiene is also a Champion highland dancer and has her own Highland Dance School. She has trained Ontario and Canadian Champions, as well as World Championship Finalists. Nadiene is on the World wide Judges panel for the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing and travels throughout North America and Scotland to adjudicate.
Mr. Jensen has over 35 years experience dancing, teaching, choreographing and adjudicating. A full member of the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Stage Division Tap and Jazz, and also a former Director on the Ontario Branch of the C.D.T.A., Mr. Jensen has also attained his Advanced 1 Cecchetti through examination by the National Ballet of Canada, is a post graduate and scholarship recipient of the Dance Master’s of America Teacher’s Training School in Tap, Jazz, Ballet and Modern. Mr Jensen has also attained the Module 1 and Module 2 with the globally recoginzed Acobatic Arts.
As Co-founder and Director of the PROFESSIONAL ADJUDICATOR'S ALLIANCE Mr. Jensen and his partner Scott Kufske hope to unite and educate adjudicators across North America, as well as helping young and aspiring new adjudicators get a fantastic start to the world of judging!
Mr. Jensen has been a free lance teacher in south western Ontario for many years, training and developing his talents as an inspiring choreographer and instructor. His award winning choreography has been showcased at many competitions and festivals throughout Ontario. He has studied with such teachers as Dulcie Lee, in Melbourne Australia, Sam Fiorello, Bob Rizzo, Gus Giordano, and Tom Ralabate and has taught workshops, summer schools and master classes across Canada and into the United States. Some of Mr. Jensen’s students have gone on to The National Ballet of Canada, Boston Ballet School, Julliard, Point Park, The New York City Rockets, and even Broadway!. Other students have achieved many film and television credits.
Mr. Jensen is an accomplished and sought after adjudicator, judging and hosting dance competitions across Canada annually, has danced professionally in many industrial shows nationally, has worked professionally with Patti Labelle, Rita McNeil, the Barenaked Ladies and Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon. He has appeared in several movies, commercials and T.V. specials. Mr. Jensen has been the choreographer for Genentech/Roche Pharmaceuticals Annual General Meeting; working with the senior executives and National Marketing
Department Directors to help produce their opening awards ceremonies in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Stephanie began her dance training at an early age studying Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary/Modern, Hip Hop, Acro and Musical Theatre at York Dance Academy. While at York Dance Academy she successfully attained her Advanced 2 ballet certificate from the Cecchetti Society of Canada. She later continued her training at Prestige Dance Company. Stephanie was a competitive dancer for a number of years competing at the regional, provincial and national level. As a teacher and choreographer she has received numerous choreography and overall awards at various competitions in Ontario.
Stephanie is currently attending the University of Guelph for studies in BSc. Neuroscience, Molecular Biology and Genetics and is currently pursuing her love of dance as a dancer and choreographer for the University of Guelph’s “Gryphon Dance Pak”.
Stephanie continues to expand her knowledge of dance by attending workshops and master classes in Toronto and is looking forward to the upcoming year at Emotion Dance Company.
Adrianna Krajcar began her dance experience at the age of two studying at Bojangles Dance Arts in KW. At the age of five she began dancing competitively. Throughout the past 15 years she has trained in various disciplines of dance such as jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, contemporary and lyrical.
In 2011 Adrianna explored other opportunities and began training at Emotion Dance Company, a Readers Choice Award winning studio in Guelph . During her five years at EDC Adrianna won numerous special awards and scholarships while involved in the competition circuit.
To enhance her studio training Adrianna attended various workshops which helped enhance Adrianna’s style and technique. Through her workshop experiences Adrianna was able to work with many notable choreographers. Adrianna trained more closely as a performer in the Pulse On Tour fashion show with former creative director Brian Friedman. Adrianna was also invited to New York City to attend a Summer Dance Intensive hosted by the Pulse On Tour.
Adrianna’s personal life also reflects her love for dance and her willingness to share. She has given of herself through her volunteer work as a dance teacher assistant at Emotion Dance Company. Adrianna has used her experience and has applied it as the co-captain of her high school dance team. Adrianna has choreographed and taught numerous dance pieces for her team. Her work has been celebrated and performed in front of enthusiastic crowds.
Adrianna is excited to have the opportunity to work with all the dancers at Emotion Dance Company. She will bring her youthful energy and share all that she can to give everyone a wonderful experience.
Adrian has been dancing since the age of four, training and competing in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical, musical theatre, hip hop, contemporary, and improvisation technique. Adrian has also been performing in theatre since a young age, with community theatre companies across south-western Ontario. Adrian's passion for dance is evident in his performances and choreographic works.
Adrian has had the opportunity to train and perform with a number of companies including Kalos Collectives, EmiMotion, TOES for Dance and the Andrew Prashad Collective. He has presented works in the Waterloo Choreographer's Ball, the Michael House Benefit Gala, and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph Gala. Adrian has also trained and performed internationally with the Chicago Human Rhythm Project, the Dubrovnik Tap Festival in Croatia, and as a member of the Canadian National Tap Team, competing at the IDO World Tap Dance Championship in Germany. He can also be seen as a principal dancer in Craig Cardiff's 'Love is Louder' music video.
Adrian graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours Bachelor of Applied Sciences in Nanotechnology Engineering. There, he was also the dance captain and a choreographer with the University of Waterloo Dance Company, with whom he has won various awards for both his performance and choreography.
Adrian continues to grow as a dancer and cultivate his passions for choreography and teaching. He is excited to return to the Emotion Dance Company family, and work with new dancers and choreographers who share his passion. He hopes to help inspire the next generation of dancers!
